Since a young girl, Jasmine has always had a passion for fashion and a keen sense for detail. As a child she would do things like take a patterned headscarf or swatch of fabric and wear it as a belt or necklace. To her fashion is more so about freedom of expression, than the need to prove self-worth. You can look good without having to spend a fortune doing so. At the start of COVID-19 pandemic, she purchased a sewing machine and decided to hop out on faith pursuing her dreams is a fashion designer. To her surprise in December 2021 Mrs.Banks-Surtain was published in Michigan’s “Forever Model Magazine”, when teen model Nia Kent hit the runway and stunned the room in her custom-made romper from Bourgeois Customs. Jasmine has been thriving, making her mark on the fashion industry ever since.

Bourgeois Customs is a fashion design brand based on the Mississippi gulf coast in Gulfport, Mississippi, and was established in July 2020. My brand Bourgeois Customs specializes in custom made mens, women’s and kids' fashion, alterations, handmade loc/hair jewelry, mannequin wear and wig repairs. Anything from tailoring pants to custom-made, tutus and dresses, I have you covered. The focus at Bourgeois Customs is to help people bring their visions and distinctive eye for fashion to life and make them feel confident knowing they look good doing it.
